Travel feeds the soul, and Abhinav Chandel uses Instagram to do exactly this, enriching his 18,000+ followers’ feed with images of his travels across Himachal Pradesh, accentuated beautifully with words of wit, fantasy and facts of life.
It’s a statement often repeated that a picture says a thousand words, and what’s left to be said is complimented by Abhinav’s unique storytelling, whether in the form of poetry, or an amalgamation of thoughts strung together with words in the most poetic and romantic style possible, without overwhelming the reader.
Originally from Kashipur, Uttarakhand, Abhinav now lives in Dharamsala, and uses his years of experience as a travel blogger and obvious talent for creative writing, to give his readers glimpses into Himachal Pradesh, mostly in and around Mcleodganj.
As his followers, we ride with him, maybe on a two-wheeler (his personal preference for transportation), we meet the people he meets, listen to the conversations, and experience the magic of living in the mountains in India. We can feel the first raindrops, yearn to ride on a bicycle again, even taste the hot jalebis under a makeshift tent during a monsoon downpour.
Understandably, Abhinav has a cult following across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. And yet he responds to all relevant comments, and even and even invites his followers to join him on his expeditions across the great locales of Himachal Pradesh. And although many of us may not be able to take him up on his offer, we still get to join him on his journeys, albeit via Instagram.
